Man, you've been wearing this same t shirt since 2011!?!?
I love this jacket. I own this in all black for about 15 years when I first started riding and it's still around. I'm buying the D30 armour to replace the old. This will still be my go to jacket. Just adding another lighter jacket for the summer. Too bad, they don't have this in production anymore. If ICON ever decides to bring this 1.0 version back, I will pull the trigger immediately. Very good looking fitting, has that sport look but more rugged taste to it and it will definitely withstand a war (spilled twice, no marks or damages).
if I remove the inner liner would this be suitable for Hawaii weather? or would it be too hot for city driving? thanks
just found a yellow/black at Goodwill. super stoked! is it possible to get a zip-in liner for it? would love to have one for the cold.
I wish I could special order this jacket. I can't find a big size anywhere.
I have this jacket an it is awesome it was my first riding jacket I have had an off in it at 50 mph an it an it saved my ass really good protection
"AGV Sport" is definitely a price point brand, not to be confused with AGV, which makes excellent helmets. -CK
Currently, only back protectors delineate between CE 1 and CE 2. Shoulders, elbows, and knees are simply CE-rated on non-CE-rated. -CK
This is an excellent jacket. I have owned one for 4 years as well. It has held up well to the test of time. It does have some great safety features in the armor and I do like that you can upgrade the back pad. I have found, however, that it is still too warm of a jacket for the summer even with the liner removed and all the vents open if you do a lot of street riding. On the highway its perfect, but for July and August riding I recommend the Teknic Mercury Jacket.
Thank you for the feedback and including info on sizing. Super helpful for other tall folks to know this is a good option. ~Ali
I love this jacket! This jacket is a great summer jacket that is really cool. I'm tall like Freddy, 6'5" and need an XXL in most jackets for the arm length. I have a L in this jacket and the arms are only a few inched short, a problem I solve with long gauntlet gloves! I like to take out the liner when it gets a bit cooler (<45) and if you are thin there is room for a thick hoodie underneath which will really extend how long into the fall/winter you can wear this jacket.
Like he said: a rock solid coat! It's one of the most iconic (no pun intended) looking motorcycle jackets and is just all around perfect for a street bike. Black on black baby!
I am currently a novice in the market for a first bike and I've never purchased a protective jacket before.
I am 5'6, a bit husky at 200lbs with a 42 chest & 34 sleeve. I tend to wear XL clothing and the size chart on the site seems to agree with this, but I am still curious as to whether the XL would be loose fitting or if I could get away with the Large and make do with the waist expansion vents.
Thank you for the informative review.
Best Regards
I bought this as my first jacket when I started riding. After about a year of constant riding in both decent conditions and awful, the jacket still offers great protection. I even went down on my bike wearing this, and I can say for sure it protected all of my torso region flawlessly. It has removable CE armor in the shoulders and elbows, and a foam back protector, which is upgradable. The only negative aspect was the color choice. Don't pick white, so hard to clean, go for black.
Thank you for the great feedback! ~Ali
I've had the ICON Motorhead leather jacket for about 4 years and it really is a great jacket. The cowhide is strong and supple. It also has great safety features like removable CE rated armor in the shoulders and elbow/fore arm areas. There is upgradable padding in the back. The jacket also features zippered vents in the shoulders and along the sides as well as a removable thermal liner for more comfortable hot weather riding. It has a Saint Christopher medal sewn into a pocket. Details!
